TOAST & co Celebrates Successful Opening with Hundreds Visiting in First Week

Hundreds of customers have passed through the doors of new independent café TOAST & co after its opening week at Park Farm Shopping Centre, Allestree, proved a roaring success.
Following a soft launch earlier in the week, the family-run speciality coffee and brunch café officially opened on Saturday 8 August, marking the culmination of a six-figure investment and months of planning and development.
The grand opening saw customers flock to the new venue, with new photography now revealing the finished café for the first time.
The former Allestree Pet Supplies unit has been transformed into a contemporary neighbourhood café, with seating for around 30 guests across banquette seating, a relaxed lounge area and breakfast bar.
Demand exceeded expectations from the offset, with hundreds of people visiting the café and its cake counter selling out every day during its first five days of trading.
TOAST & co serves speciality coffee from local Derbyshire roasters 47 Degrees, while its cakes and bakes are freshly made by The Cake Club Derby and Cakeaway. The Cake Club Derby owner Reza Kashefi is also General Manager of TOAST & co, overseeing the café's day-to-day operations.
Head Chef Bradley Moss has curated the food menu, which features a range of breakfast and brunch dishes, with French toast playing a starring role as a nod to the TOAST & co name.
Signature sweet dishes include the Summer Bliss, served as a choice of French toast or buttermilk pancakes and topped with whipped maple mascarpone, summer fruits compote and candied walnuts; Pistachio & Strawberry, with pistachio mascarpone, fresh strawberries and a chocolate drizzle; and Nutella & Strawberry, topped with fresh strawberries, Nutella drizzle and chocolate shavings.
Elsewhere, the menu features a hearty Toast Breakfast with dry cured smoked bacon, pork sausage, eggs, roasted vine tomatoes, herbed flat cap mushrooms, baked beans, hashed potatoes and artisan sourdough; alongside brunch favourites including Crushed Avocado, Garlic & Chilli Mushrooms and classic Eggs Benedict. Freshly prepared sandwiches include the Tuna Crunch Melt, Chicken Caesar and Feta Frustato, with all sandwiches served on house-made milk bread.
The business has also created five new jobs as part of the investment.

TOAST & co is now open Tuesday to Saturday from 8.30am to 3.30pm at Park Farm Shopping Centre, Allestree.
