Magic, Mischief and Memories: Over 200 children experience the joy of Over The Wall Camp – and there's still time to join in!

More than 200 children with serious illnesses and disabilities have already experienced adventure, laughter and created unforgettable memories at Over The Wall Camp this summer – and there is still time for more children to join the fun.
The children’s charity opened the doors to its new forever home in Ockbrook, Derbyshire, after completing the first phase of transforming the former Ockbrook School.
Since the end of July, children and young people aged 8 to 17, together with their siblings and families, have been enjoying week-long residential camps at the newly transformed site. With spaces still available this summer, Over The Wall Camp is encouraging families and healthcare professionals to get in touch and refer children who would benefit from a life-changing camp experience.
Over The Wall Camp supports children living with more than 130 different long-term illnesses and conditions, including cancer and leukaemia, respiratory disorders, heart conditions, organ transplants, and severe allergies.
Camp gives children the opportunity to step outside their comfort zone in a safe and supportive environment. Through adventure, friendship and discovery, campers can try new things, build confidence, develop independence, and create memories that last a lifetime.
And it is not just children who can get involved. Over The Wall Camp is also welcoming new volunteers this summer. Volunteers play a vital role in creating the magic of camp, supporting activities, encouraging campers and helping to create an environment where every child feels included, valued and empowered.
Dedicated staff and volunteers are supported by an on-site clinical team of nurses, doctors and paramedics, providing home-from-home medical care for campers and responding to emergencies when needed.
The opening of the Ockbrook site marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Over The Wall Camp. The charity has ambitious plans to continue transforming its new home, including the creation of an adventure park and treehouse, giving even more children the opportunity to discover the magic and mischief of childhood.
