Storal Strengthens London Presence with Acquisition of Kingswood Nurseries

Storal has expanded its nursery portfolio with the acquisition of Kingswood Day Care Nursery and Kingswood Early Years Nursery, two highly regarded family-run settings in Mitcham, South London, marking another significant milestone in the group's growth journey and bringing its UK footprint to 61 nurseries.

Founded by Ashia Siddik, the family-ran nurseries have built a strong reputation across the local community for their child-centred approach, encouraging children to develop their creativity, individuality and self-confidence within welcoming and nurturing environments.

Both are located in Mitcham. Kingswood Day Care Nursery, on Miles Road, opened in September 2012 and provides quality childcare for up to 67 children aged from three months to five years. Kingswood Early Years Nursery, located on London Road, opened in October 2016 and was established as the second nursery within the Kingswood family.

Sarah Mackenzie, chief executive of Storal, said:

"From every conversation we had with Kingswood Nurseries, we could clearly see the dedication, passion and care that Ashia and her family have invested in building these wonderful settings. The joy that the nurseries bring to children, families and the wider local community was evident throughout every conversation.

"Kingswood's commitment to providing a fun, stimulating and nurturing environment that supports the healthy development of every child closely aligns with our own values and vision. We were particularly impressed by the genuine sense of belonging experienced by children, parents and colleagues alike.”

Across both settings, families will continue to benefit from colourful, creative learning environments designed to inspire curiosity and foster development through practical, play-based experiences. Kingswood Day Care Nursery features bright and spacious rooms for babies, toddlers and preschool children, alongside a play gym and outdoor garden space where children can explore, learn and grow.

Ashia Siddik, owner of Kingswood Nurseries, said:

“Choosing the right organisation to take Kingswood forward was incredibly important to us. We felt closely aligned with Storal from the outset and have been reassured that they are the right team to continue the next chapter of the nurseries' story. Their unique and wholesome curriculum, shared values and commitment to exceptional early years education made the decision an easier one.

“We understand that it is often the little things that matter most to families and children. We’re excited to see Storal's remarkable values brought to life across the nurseries for many years to come and are confident that our children, families and colleagues are in excellent hands."

Sophie Willcox, director of childcare & education at Christie & Co said:

“Kingswood Day Care and Early Years is a fantastic family-run business that has built a resilient and profitable platform over the past 14 years. We received significant interest in the opportunity and were delighted to work with Ashia to secure the partnership with Storal, ensuring the business is well placed to continue its success and build on their legacy.”

The acquisition reinforces Storal’s position as a leading UK nursery group, with a continued commitment to outstanding teams and close relationships with children, families and local communities.

With the addition of Kingswood, Storal, a daynurseries.co.uk Top 20 Most Recommended Large Nursery Group, now operates 61 nurseries across the UK and offers up to 5,900 places across 64 Ofsted-registered settings.
