Double shortlisting for IMA Architects at G4C Awards 2026

Two members of the team at IMA Architects have been shortlisted in the Constructing Excellence Midlands Generation4Change (G4C) Awards 2026.
Director Joe Travers has been shortlisted for New Professional of the Year, while Architectural Technologist Nilani Aruldas has been shortlisted for Trainee of the Year.
The G4C Awards celebrate young achievers in construction and the built environment, alongside the companies that support and train the future leaders of the industry. The winners will be announced at a black-tie ceremony at the Crowne Plaza Birmingham City Centre on Thursday 15 October 2026.
Joe joined IMA Architects as an Architectural Technologist in 2011 and has progressed through the practice to become a Director, a position he took up in 2025. In the same year he qualified as a registered architect, completing the RIBA Studio programme and his RIBA Part 3 while working full time. Already chartered with the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists and the Chartered Institute of Building, he now holds a rare triple-chartered profile across the three core built environment institutions.
Joe leads some of the practice’s largest and most technically demanding projects, including a c.30,000 sqm extension to the UK manufacturing facility of a world-leading luxury car brand and a £100m data centre for an international technology client. He also led IMA to its ISO 19650 BIM recertification in January 2026 and mentors colleagues across the practice.
Nilani joined IMA Architects in 2018 after completing her BSc in Architectural Technology and now runs large industrial and commercial projects under senior guidance. She has played a key role in the delivery of Stud Brook Business Park, a multi-building scheme comprising seven logistics buildings, a Sainsbury’s convenience store, a Starbucks drive-thru and five trade counter units, and worked on Plots C1 and C2 at Fairham Business Park, a major mixed-use development in Nottingham, where she is now part of the team delivering Phase 2. She has helped both schemes achieve BREEAM Excellent and Very Good ratings.
