Chestnut Homes pedals for good causes on charity cycle ride through Lincolnshire

Lincolnshire homebuilder Chestnut Homes has taken part in this year’s C2C2C, a popular cycling event through the county’s beautiful countryside, which has raised nearly £400,000 for local charities since it started over 10 years ago.

C2C2C is a well-established charity cycle ride that took place at the end of June. Kicking off from Lincoln Rugby Club, the event saw participants travel from the edge of Lincoln, into and around the Lincolnshire Wolds, before making their way back to the start point. Riders could choose between 100-mile and 75-mile routes, with a variety of local businesses taking part.

To help raise awareness and funds for C2C2C’s 12 official partner charities, 10 members of the Chestnut Homes team took part in the challenge, while a further four volunteered in two support vehicles to assist riders across both routes.

The housebuilder also provided a £1,000 sponsorship, helping organisers cover running costs and enabling 100% of participant entry fees to go directly to the charities.

The final fundraising amount for this year is £50,000, helping each of the charities to continue providing essential services for people and families across Lincolnshire. This year’s official partner charities include Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance, Children’s Bereavement Centre and Lowlands Search and Rescue.

David Jockel at C2C2C said:

“Given the challenging weather conditions this year we were delighted to have 469 riders on the road. We could not organise this cycling event without the very generous support of all our corporate sponsors, including Chestnut Homes who have now worked with us for nearly 10 years.”

David Newton, Managing Director at Chestnut Homes, said:

“We’re so proud to have once again taken part in C2C2C and helped raise an incredible £50,000 for local charities. Supporting communities and good causes across Lincolnshire is hugely important to us at Chestnut Homes, so C2C2C’s mission perfectly aligns with our own values.

“This year’s cycle ride was brilliantly organised. With temperatures peaking at 34 degrees, a record for C2C2C, the event was a huge challenge but all participants were fantastic. I’d like to extend a special congratulations to our two team members who completed the route for the first time, and we’re already looking forward to riding for good causes again in 2027.”
