The best of the best: Lincolnshire Site Manager wins Quality Award

A site manager overseeing the construction at the Wigmore Park development in New Waltham has won a top national award for the quality of the homes being built onsite.
Barratt Homes’ site manager, Carl Brevitt (48) has won a Pride in the Job Quality Award from the National House Building Council (NHBC), an award known as the ‘Oscars’ of the housebuilding industry.
In total, site managers working for Barratt Homes’ parent company, Barratt Redrow Plc, have won 122 Pride in the Job awards this year alone – more than any other housebuilder.
This is the 22nd year in a row that Barratt Redrow has won the most Pride in the Job awards, underlining just how important building high quality sustainable homes has been to the developer over the past two decades.
Senior Site Manager, Carl Brevitt, has worked for Barratt Homes for three years and is celebrating his first NHBC award.
Reflecting on his accomplishment, Carl said:
“It feels amazing to have achieved this award and I am so proud of the whole team at Wigmore Park for their hard work. Everyone takes pride in their work, which is the most important thing, and we are always looking for ways to improve.
“I have always taken NHBC inspector comments and feedback from my contract managers on board, making small improvements and adjustments to enhance quality whilst maintaining consistency. This year, for example, I have heavily focused on the overall completion experience for the customer, helping to make their home buying journey all that more special.
“I would like to thank my line manager, Andy Bentley, for his advice and support, the NHBC inspectors for driving me forward, the entire site team, and my right-hand man and Assistant, Andrew Welton. Without my team, I would not have achieved this award. Lastly, I would also like to thank my wife for putting up with my long hours and weekend while I worked towards achieving this award.”
The awards recognise the very best site managers across the country, with thousands of inspections having taken place to determine the winners. Judging is rigorous, with assessment across six key areas: consistency, attention to detail, leadership, interpretation of drawings and specifications, technical expertise and health and safety.
The competition is also at the heart of raising standards in housebuilding, with the awards showcasing the role site managers play in ensuring much needed new homes are delivered on time, on safe sites, and to the highest quality standards. With site managers passing on their skills to their teams and mentoring assistant site managers, the awards help drive up quality standards across the industry.

This is the 17th year in a row that Barratt Redrow customers have rated it a five-star housebuilder, underlining its long-term commitment to making its customers happy.
