Midlands children’s care and education provider acquires specialist Birmingham counterpart

Care Perspectives Limited – an East Midlands-based provider of tailored therapeutic support and residential care for children and young people – has acquired Positive Pathways Limited, which operates six Ofsted-registered children’s homes in the Birmingham area.

The acquisition enables geographic expansion for Care Perspectives, supporting its mission to provide high-quality, child-centred residential care for looked-after children with complex needs.

It also allows Positive Pathways’ founding directors Kevin and Danielle Epps to successfully pass on the running of its homes to a growing organisation that shares its ethos for empowering young lives through compassionate care.

Both Care Perspectives and Positive Pathways operate homes in urban, residential areas, maximising opportunities for daily living skills development and integration with local educational and community services.

Leicester-based Care Perspectives has 10 children’s homes across the Midlands with a further four scheduled to open this year. In addition to this, it also operates New Perspectives School, an independent special school for pupils with SEMH Needs.

Dr Anu Gupta, clinical director for Care Perspectives, said:

“The alignment in our vision and values was clear from our earliest conversations with the team at Positive Pathways, with both our organisations founded on the belief that every young person has the opportunity to thrive, regardless of the challenges they face.

“We’re working closely with the Positive Pathways team to ensure a seamless transition and the highest levels of care and support to our children and young people and their families.”

Care Perspectives was advised by the corporate finance team at UK accountancy and advisory firm MHA which provided acquisition advisory and financial due diligence services.

MHA’s advisory team was led by Rob Holgate and Francis McGuigan from the corporate finance team and Rob Dawes, Partner in the Transaction Services team.

Rob Holgate, Corporate Finance Director at MHA, said:

“These are two incredible organisations that provide safe, nurturing and supportive environments where young people can thrive. We’re proud to have played our role in helping to make this acquisition possible, enabling Care Perspectives to grow its geographic footprint and its outstanding support for young people.”

HCR Law provided legal advice to Care Perspectives. The vendor was advised by the corporate finance team at Hazlewoods with RWK Goodman providing legal advice.
