Inspiring Business by Sharing Success

The audit was carried out by ISOQAR, a UKAS-accredited certification body. The assessor confirmed that ADL Consulting continues to meet the requirements of the Standard and will retain its certificate.
ISO 27001 is the international gold Standard for information security management. In plain English, it asks an organisation to answer three questions: what are your information security risks; what are you doing about them; and how do you know it is working? Certified organisations have to prove their answers to an independent auditor, not just once, but year after year.
That ongoing scrutiny is what makes this announcement unusual. Plenty of consultancies advise businesses on ISO 27001. Very few of them hold the certification themselves. For a firm that spends most of its time helping clients prepare for exactly this kind of audit, sitting on the other side of the table is a deliberate choice.
“We have always believed in practising what we preach,” said Andy Larkum, Founder of ADL Consulting.
“We spend most of our year helping other businesses prepare for this exact audit, so going through it ourselves keeps us honest. Every recommendation we make to a client is something we have tested in our own business first. If we asked our clients to meet a Standard we were not willing to meet ourselves, why should they trust us?”
While ADL Consulting serves clients across the UK and internationally, the firm remains firmly rooted in Leicestershire, where it was founded and is still based today.
“We work with businesses around the world, but we are a Leicestershire business and proud of it,” added Larkum. “There is serious technology and security expertise in this region, and we are proud to be a leader in this space.”
