Belvoir Castle raises a glass for English Wine Week with vineyard tours and discounts

Wine-lovers are invited to celebrate English Wine week at one of the UK’s most exciting new vineyards at the foot of the iconic Belvoir Castle with 20% discounts on the delicious Sparkling Rosé available from Belvoir Butcher & Farm Shop.

English Wine Week also marks the start of the popular Vineyard Tours for 2026 running throughout the summer.  Introduced in 2024, the vineyard tours take visitors on a guided journey to learn about the growing process and grape varieties, followed by a wine tasting session featuring the whole range of Belvoir Wines.

Eleanor Melville, Marketing Manager at Belvoir Castle said,

“Belvoir has been producing wine since 2019 when the vineyards were planted in the fertile soils overlooking Belvoir Castle but the area has a wine-making history that dates back to Roman times.

“As English wines are growing in popularity and provenance we are hugely proud to be part of UK production and we’re so excited to welcome people to see the vineyards and enjoy tastings of both the sparkling and still varieties."

Planted seven years ago on a carefully selected east-west-facing slope overlooking Belvoir Castle Belvoir Estate’s vineyard produces around 20,000 bottles a year and had a record-breaking yield last summer. This year’s harvest is expected to be just as strong, further bolstering Belvoir’s position as one of the East Midlands most exciting wine producers.

The two-hectare site supports four grape varieties: Solaris, Pino Prococe, Siegerrebe and Seyval Blanc. Belvoir Castle’s sparkling wines are twice fermented in the traditional method and aged for two years, ensuring a high-quality product that reflects the terroir of historic estate.

Belvoir Wine is served in local restaurants and pubs including The Welby Arms in Denton. The full Belvoir Wine portfolio is also available to purchase in Belvoir Butcher & Farm Shop. Standing high above the rolling hills of Leicestershire, Belvoir Castle is an iconic regency castle steeped in hundreds of years of history with roots dating back to Norman times – and is home to the Duke and Duchess of Rutland and their five children.

Tickets for the vineyard tours, which run on Saturdays in August, cost £48 per person and will include wine tasting boxes.
