The Coalville-based housebuilder offers every employee two paid volunteering days each year, encouraging teams to give back to causes making a difference across the region.
In the year leading up to 31st March 2026, employees at David Wilson Homes East Midlands completed 50 volunteering days – marking a 116% increase compared to the previous year as the developer continues to strengthen its support for local communities.
Held annually from the first Monday in June, Volunteers’ Week shines a spotlight on the invaluable role volunteers play in communities across the UK. The nationwide campaign recognises and celebrates the dedication of those who give their time to help others and make a lasting impact.
John Reddington, Managing Director at David Wilson Homes East Midlands, said:
“It’s fantastic to see so many of our colleagues embracing the opportunity to volunteer and support worthwhile causes in the communities where we build.
“The increase in volunteering days reflects the passion our teams have for making a positive difference locally, and we’re incredibly proud of the time and energy they continue to give.
“We’re excited to build on this momentum and support even more charities and community groups in the year ahead.”
A recent volunteering initiative undertaken by David Wilson Homes employees involved a litter pick at Thorpebury in the Limes in Leicester, led by staff from a range of departments alongside John Reddington, helping to create a safer and more welcoming environment for the local community.
