The 2026 Tech Transformation Summit brought together business leaders, technology professionals, public sector organisations, educators and transformation specialists to explore how organisations can successfully navigate rapid digital change. Aimed at decision-makers responsible for innovation, operational improvement and future workforce strategy, the summit focused on practical approaches to digital transformation, AI adoption, cyber resilience, leadership, sustainability and organisational change. Key takeaways from the event included the importance of putting people at the centre of transformation programmes, the growing need for digital skills and re-skilling, the role of collaboration between sectors, and the understanding that successful transformation depends as much on culture, communication and adoption as it does on technology itself.
Steve joined the panel discussion “People and Change — Leading Digital Transformation at Scale”, chaired by Dani Gieveson and featuring fellow panellists Steven Adjei, Prof Hanifa Shah, Mayank Shah and Suzie Branch.
The session focused on the growing challenges and opportunities surrounding digital transformation, including workforce productivity, re-skilling, digital inclusion and the societal impact of rapidly evolving technologies.
Drawing on nearly 40 years of experience delivering digital transformation projects across sectors including rail, healthcare, logistics, housing and the public sector, Steve shared practical insights into the importance of stakeholder engagement and human-centred change management.
During the discussion, Steve emphasised that successful digital transformation depends on understanding the people behind the process, not just the technology itself.
He said:
“The first thing you need to understand is nobody likes change when it’s forced upon them. The key to successful digital transformation is understanding what success looks like for every stakeholder involved and using that as the compass point throughout the project. When people can clearly see ‘what’s in it for me’, adoption becomes far more natural and sustainable.”
Founded in 1987 by Steve and his wife, Quiet Storm Solutions has grown into a multi-award-winning digital transformation company supporting organisations ranging from SMEs to major public sector bodies.
Following the event, Steve thanked summit organiser Ninder Johal for the invitation to contribute.
Steve added:
“It was a genuine privilege to take part in such an important conversation alongside so many experienced leaders. I’d like to thank Ninder Johal and the entire Tech Transformation Summit team for bringing together a fantastic event that encouraged honest discussion about the future of technology, leadership and people.”
Ninder Johal explained why Steve was invited to join the panel:
“Steve brings decades of hands-on experience delivering digital transformation in the real world. What makes his perspective especially valuable is his understanding that successful transformation is always about people first. His contribution added practical insight and authenticity to an incredibly important discussion.”
The Tech Transformation Summit 2026 brought together business leaders, educators, technology specialists and policymakers from across the UK to explore how organisations can successfully adapt to the next generation of digital innovation.
Steve’s contribution was widely praised by attendees for its practical focus on leadership, behaviour and long-term organisational adoption — reinforcing the message that while technology enables transformation, people ultimately determine its success.
