Green fingered children from the preschool, which is close to the Barratt Homes at Bourne development, have received a number of gardening gloves, aprons and tools, along with vegetable seeds and compost to enrich their joy of gardening.
National Children’s Gardening Week celebrates the fun gardens hold for children, who often enjoy gardening but lack the patience to see the results of their good work. National Children’s Gardening Week aims to capture children’s enthusiasm at a time when results are immediate, in the ‘warm’ week at the end of May.
Laura, one of the owners of Busy Bees, said
“We are absolutely delighted to receive this generous donation of gardening equipment and seeds from Barratt Homes. At Busy Bees we nurture a love for the outdoors.
“This support will help our children further develop their green fingers, encouraging curiosity and a lifelong appreciation for nature. Thank you to Barratt Homes for helping us inspire the next generation of gardeners.”
Busy Bees Preschool is a unique forest school where children aged two to four learn through outdoor exploration, imaginative play, and hands-on activities in Mongolian yurts and woodland areas. The preschool focuses on supporting children’s independence, confidence, and physical, emotional, and social development while nurturing a strong connection with nature.
Kerry Mullen, Sales Director at Barratt Homes Northampton, said:
“As a leading housebuilder, it’s important to us to support the communities in the areas that we build new homes.
“We are delighted to support Busy Bees Bourne by donating garden equipment that will help the children explore, create, and learn outdoors. It’s wonderful to know this donation will encourage imaginative play and give the children even more opportunities to connect with nature this National Children’s Gardening Week.”
