Inspiring Business by Sharing Success

The annual event – one of the UK’s largest property and investment conferences – brought together more than 16,000 investors, developers, councils and businesses to explore where future investment will happen.
For Chesterfield, the event was about far more than visibility. It provided a platform to demonstrate that the borough is already delivering major regeneration and is primed for further growth.
A borough on the move
Chesterfield is entering a significant phase of development, with regeneration projects reshaping parts of the town and new opportunities emerging.
The team used UKREiiF to present a joined‑up investment story, linking employment, housing and town centre regeneration into a single, coherent offer. From an evolving town centre to major employment sites such as Markham Vale, the scale and pace of change were clear to attendees.
Andy Byrne, Chair of Destination Chesterfield, said:
“UKREiiF gave us a valuable opportunity to showcase Chesterfield on a national stage and demonstrate the strength of our investment offer.
What makes Chesterfield stand out is the way our business community, local authority and partners work together to drive growth, creating the conditions for investment to succeed and deliver long‑term benefits.”
Building on existing strengths
Chesterfield already has strong foundations in advanced manufacturing and engineering, supported by established business locations with excellent connectivity.
This momentum is set to grow further through new opportunities at Staveley, part of the East Midlands Investment Zone, which will bring forward space for advanced manufacturing and green industries.
Regeneration schemes, including Chesterfield Waterside, the Spire Neighbourhood and the Station Masterplan Area, continue to create new places to live, work and invest.
Councillor Tricia Gilby, Leader of Chesterfield Borough Council and Vice Chair of Destination Chesterfield, said:
“We are already seeing the impact of sustained investment across our borough, from major regeneration projects to improvements in our town centre and public spaces.
UKREiiF is an important platform for us to build new relationships and attract further investment that will create jobs, support local businesses and strengthen our communities.”
More than development
Investment in Chesterfield is not just about buildings and infrastructure. Work to improve the town centre, public spaces and events programme is helping to bring more activity into the borough, supporting local businesses and strengthening confidence.
These improvements contribute to creating a place where people choose to spend time and where businesses feel confident to grow.
Part of a bigger picture
Chesterfield plays a key role in the East Midlands’ wider growth ambitions, working with partners through the East Midlands Combined County Authority and Team East Midlands to raise the region’s profile and attract investment.
Across Chesterfield and Staveley, plans represent around £2 billion of investment covering housing, employment land and regeneration projects.
The borough forms part of the Canal Corridor, a strategic growth area identified by the Combined County Authority. Within this area, plans could deliver up to 3,900 homes and 7,800 jobs through a coordinated programme of development.
Looking ahead
Connections made at UKREiiF will support the next stage of investment activity in the borough, including Chesterfield’s own Investment Summit later this year.
The summit will bring partners, investors and businesses together in Chesterfield to showcase progress and highlight further opportunities across the borough.
