Baxter Freight recognised in The Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2026

Baxter Freight, the Nottingham-based global logistics specialist, has officially been recognised by The Sunday Times as one of the best places to work in the UK, in the medium organisation category.

Published on Friday 22nd May, the official report was conducted with leading employee experience platform WorkL. Celebrated annually, this prestigious award aims to recognise and celebrate the UK’s top employers who are leading the way in employee engagement, workplace culture and overall employee experience.

To be recognised, companies are evaluated by their employees across six key areas, including; reward and recognition; instilling pride; information sharing; empowerment; wellbeing and overall job satisfaction. Only organisations who meet a high level of engagement criteria are recognised, with 567 companies making it on to the official 2026 list.

Lorraine Sutcliffe, HR Director at Baxter Freight, said:

“We’re delighted to be recognised as a Sunday Times Best Place to Work, especially because it reflects the real, everyday experiences of our team.

It is also testament to our mission as an ethical, people orientated and planet focused logistics provider and our commitment to creating a workplace where employees feel valued, supported and able to develop.

As we continue to grow and invest in future talent, it’s important that we maintain a positive and engaged culture that supports our employees and helps us continue attracting talented people to Baxter Freight.”

Zoe Thomas, editor of The Sunday Times Best Places to Work, said:

“In an evolving world of work Britain’s leading employers are helping staff forge careers that count today – and in the future. In turn, the Best Places to Work have the resilience to weather the current economic storms baked in, thanks to engaged workers who go above and beyond with a smile. Our winning employers span sizes and sectors – from tiny charities and specialist law firms, to multinational fast-food chains and utility giants, and everywhere in between. The thread joining them is the belief that a happy workforce is a stepping stone to better performance, faster growth, and bigger profits. More than that, there’s a collective instinct that a contented rank-and-file is a worthwhile business goal in and of itself.”

Baxter Freight offer a comprehensive package designed to enhance the overall employee experience. This includes promoting a culture of open and transparent communication, and providing internal progression opportunities to help staff build long-term, fulfilling careers. As a Certified B Corp™ and Living Wage Employer, they are committed to maintaining environmental, social, and governance standards. As well as fair pay, they provide additional support to employees through paid dental plans, monthly gym allowances and a free weekly breakfast for every employee.

Through an Employee Assistance Programme, they provide access to mental health support, as well as a dedicated wellness room which all employees can access to support personal needs.

Beyond this, Baxter Freight encourages everyone to make a positive impact in the community, offering paid volunteering days with local charity Hope Nottingham, as well as monthly litter picks and internal awareness days to support diversity and inclusion.
