As part of a ‘Welcome Home’ project, the housebuilder reached out to Swinderby All Saints Primary School for the help of the children to design greetings cards to be handed out to new home buyers.
Local pupil, Oliver (Year 6), was crowned the winner of the competition and has seen his card printed to be delivered to new residents. He also received a 140-piece art set as a prize so he can continue to express his creative skills.
Zoe Longstaff, Head Teacher at Swinderby All Saints Primary School, said:
“Our school is at the very heart of its local community, and we were delighted to be involved in the competition. We are especially proud of Oliver and the great card he has designed.”
The cards are to provide a warm welcome to those who have recently moved to the development. Oliver’s design depicts a car laden with bags arriving home for the first time.
Martyn Parker, Sales Director at David Wilson Homes North Midlands, said:
“It’s important to us to make our residents feel welcome as they join our new communities, and we are thankful to the pupils of Swinderby All Saints Primary School for helping us to do just that.
“We hope that when moving into their new home, a welcome from a local school pupil will really put a smile on homeowners’ faces.
“We received a variety of inventive entries as part of the Welcome Home card campaign and it was a difficult task choosing our winner; however, we hope this project has inspired the imaginations of all the children involved.”
Lancaster Grove offers convenient access to local amenities and a range of supermarkets. The development is surrounded by countryside with numerous scenic parks and reservoirs nearby to discover, such as Whisby Nature Park and Millennium Lakes.
