A decade of making a difference: Center Parcs and Co-op Wholesale raise nearly £100,000 for Together for Short Lives

Nearly £100,000 has been raised for Together for Short Lives through a decade-long partnership between Center Parcs and Co-op Wholesale’s charity partner, Making a Difference Locally, funding vital care for children living with serious illness and their families.

The funding which is raised through a percentage of sales of Co-op own-brand products sold through Center Parcs Parc Market* supports children’s hospices across the UK, enabling them to care for families when and where they need it – making magic moments possible. By managing symptoms, providing short breaks, delivering care at the end of life and bereavement, children’s hospices provide an extra layer of support that help families make every moment count.

The ongoing donations provided by Co-op Wholesale have helped sustain services supporting thousands of families across the UK. Together for Short Lives and the children’s hospices it supports are committed to inclusivity, providing free, accessible services to families from all backgrounds. Step, by step, hand in hand, day by day, so that every family can thrive as they navigate their child's life, death and bereavement.

Nick Carroll, Chief Executive of Together for Short Lives, said:

“The generosity of the Making a Difference Locally scheme is truly humbling. The latest donation of £18,782 will go to children's hospices across the UK, helping fund vital care and support. For families facing the ups and downs of caring for a child living with serious illness, this kind of donation makes all the difference, and we are deeply thankful.”

Nick Old, Group FBR (Food, Beverage & Retail) Central Support Manager for Center Parcs commented:

“We are delighted to be able to support such a worthy cause in the local communities near our five villages. The work that Together for Short Lives does is truly inspiring, and through our partnership with Co-op Wholesale and Making a Difference Locally, we are proud to help make a difference to children and families in their time of need.”

Kate Carroll, Social Value Lead at Co-op Wholesale, added:

“This is exactly what our Making a Difference Locally fund is all about - empowering Co-op Wholesale partners to support the groups that make a real difference in people's lives. We're proud that MADL has been able to support a charity doing such important work.”
