Holgate Pupils in Hucknall Inspired by TTS Art Club Programme

Pupils at Holgate Primary and Nursery School have been exploring their creativity and building confidence through a five-week after school art club delivered by Hucknall-based global educational resources company, TTS.

Across the weekly clubs, pupils took part in a series of hands-on activities designed to build skills progressively, using tactile, engaging resources to spark imagination, self-expression, and creativity beyond the classroom.

In the first two weeks, pupils created nature-inspired Green Man masks, experimenting with textures, natural materials, and imaginative design. The following week saw pupils create vibrant spring flower collages, exploring colour, layering, and seasonal themes.

Week four introduced playful cardboard tube bunnies, highlighting how everyday materials can inspire creativity. A special extended Easter session then invited parents and carers to join in, creating cards and decorations together - strengthening school-home links and giving pupils the opportunity to share handmade gifts with loved ones.

The final week saw pupils working more independently on a “mini beasts” theme, celebrating individuality through butterflies, dragonflies, and other imaginative creations.

The sessions supported fine motor skill development, boosted confidence and self-expression, and provided inclusive opportunities for pupils of all abilities to participate and succeed. The programme also demonstrated how high-quality resources can be used effectively in real educational settings to create meaningful learning experiences.

Michelle Smith, Teaching Assistant at Holgate Primary and Nursery School, said:

“I want to say a heartfelt thank you to TTS for running the arts and crafts club for our pupils. They absolutely loved attending each week, and it was wonderful to see how much creativity, confidence, and joy it brought them.

“We really appreciated the time, effort, and enthusiasm put into planning and leading the activities. It makes such a positive difference, and we are genuinely grateful.”

Tanya Wilson, Marketing Director at TTS, commented:

“Our team thoroughly enjoyed delivering the after-school art club programme and it was a privilege to support a local school in developing their pupils’ creativity skills.

“At TTS, we are passionate about providing resources that inspire creativity in the classroom, and it has been great to see pupils at Holgate Primary and Nursery School grow in confidence during this programme.”
