Thomas Bow keeps construction moving with investment in new Fuel on the Go service

Nottingham-based civil engineering firm Thomas Bow has launched a new mobile fuelling service titled Fuel on the Go, making it easier for businesses with immobile plants to refuel machinery on the move.
Catering to builders, landscape and agricultural contractors, civil engineering firms and plant hire businesses, Fuel on the Go is designed to make refuelling large machinery such as excavators, generators and non-road going equipment both time and cost efficient.
Thomas Bow has invested £60,000 in a state-of-the-art, custom built Isuzu fuel truck, which comes equipped with a 900 litre fuel capacity. This new pay-as-you-go service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, predominantly servicing the East Midlands. When a business detects that an item of plant is running low on fuel, the team contacts Thomas Bow’s Fuel on the Go service and the truck will visit the site to refuel the plant in situ.
For the firm’s Commercial Director Andrew Jackaman, the launch of Fuel on the Go is an exciting step for the business as it delivers a unique service for the region which prioritises safety, convenience and logistical benefits.
“Construction and plant hire firms will typically either transport immobile plant to refuel, utilise bowsers or store Jerry cans for use in an emergency. These methods are inefficient, wasting valuable resources, and carry security risks storing white diesel on sites.”
