Leicestershire housebuilder invests in community wellbeing through local event

Barratt Homes has donated £300 to Lubbesthorpe Alive’s Wellbeing Event, funding the meditation sessions that support its mission to foster a healthy, connected, and vibrant community.
The event, located at The Hub on the homebuilders' New Lubbesthorpe development, took place on Saturday 27th September. The day involved meditation, men’s wellbeing sessions, a seasonal skincare and wellness workshop, sticks and yarn crafts, as well as the opportunity to visit New Lubbesthorpe’s brand-new health centre and care home.
Sue Steer, Pioneer Community Worker at Lubbesthorpe Alive, said:
“I was delighted to create our first Wellbeing Day and see so many people enjoying a range of wellbeing activities together. We also launched our new Community Wellbeing Champions programme, bringing our vision of a truly caring community to life.
“It’s all about making sure new houses quickly become homes - and that anyone who needs a helping hand can always find one.”
Lubbesthorpe Alive has several other events happening throughout the year to bring the community together. There are mindfulness sessions happening fortnightly, starting from 13th October, offering a friendly and supportive space to manage stress and anxiety.
As well as this, The Hub will host a Halloween Hub café and treat station serving hot chocolate, pumpkin soup and other treats on 31st October.
