Diwali celebration receives £5,000 donation from Leicestershire builder

Barratt Homes recently helped the Leicestershire community celebrate Diwali with a £5,000 sponsorship of the annual city centre event.

Often heralded as one of the largest and most significant Diwali events outside of India, Leicester's celebrations attract tens of thousands of visitors each year with spectacular light displays and live performances.

The contribution made by the leading homebuilder helped fund the night’s festivities and enhance the festival experience for residents and visitors alike.

Martyn Parker, Sales Director at Barratt Homes North Midlands, said:

“We are proud to be sponsoring Leicester’s Diwali celebrations this year, supporting one of the city’s most significant cultural events. Recognised as one of the largest Diwali festivals outside India, the event brings together thousands of people from Leicester and beyond to celebrate the Festival of Lights with colour, music, food, and tradition.

“As a leading housebuilder, we are committed to supporting the communities where we build, and are delighted to sponsor this year’s Diwali festivities, contributing to a city with which we share a longstanding relationship. We have deep roots across the city and wider county, and are proud to back events and projects that bring people together and celebrate the diversity of the region.

“We are also providing much-needed, high-quality new homes across Leicestershire, with our thriving developments at New Lubbesthorpe on Laxford Road, Wigston Meadows on Newton Lane, and King’s Meadow on Kirby Lane in Melton Mowbray. Each development offers a range of properties to suit different buyers, helping to meet local housing needs while also creating welcoming neighbourhoods where residents can feel part of a wider community.”
