The fun run will take place on the 21st September at 10am at Nottingham Girls High School on Arboretum Street; it’s a fun run of around 1km with participants able to run or walk around as many times as they like – until they are coated in paint powder!
Base 51’s Head of Fundraising and Events, Verity Woods said
“We are looking forward to bringing back the Outburst Colour Run for a 3rd year, this time at the new City Centre location at the Nottingham Girls High School! It’s always such a fun event, with paint powder and laughter everywhere. It raises vital funds that support our work with vulnerable young people, it will allow us to continue to give them a safe place to get help for their mental wellbeing. Charities are struggling at the moment, so every bit of support makes such a difference to a local charity like Base 51. We look forward to seeing everyone there on the 21st September!”
The charity is also looking for corporate sponsors for the event, giving local companies a chance to market their brand, support a local charity and gain staff places to the event.
With 1 in 4 young people in England experiencing mental health problems in 2024 (up from 1 in 9 in 2017) and over 1 million young people being referred to mental health services in 2022/23, the crisis around youth mental health continues to deepen. Base 51 offers a range of support for young people aged 11-24 in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, including person-centred counselling, a LGBTQIA+ group and a youth club.
“I am glad that services like this are here to support young people as I did not know where else to go. I have always been helped and supported by Base51 when I am in trouble and I appreciate what they do for me.”
