Caring Works, a leading provider of healthcare staffing solutions has expanded its Derby headquarters whilst also hiring new team members as demand continues to grow for care staff throughout the East Midlands.

Based on Friar Gate in Derby, Caring Works was set up in July 2020 in the midst of the Covid pandemic to provide care homes with highly trained and responsive staff when they were having trouble with recruitment or for when staff were having to self-isolate and unable to work.

The company has grown from strength to strength and now celebrates a larger, newly refurbished space, including a dedicated training centre, alongside the addition of a new team member. The new office not only enhances internal capacity but also allows the team to deliver more in-house training, strengthening the quality and readiness of its healthcare professionals.

Care providers are increasingly relying on agency staff due to a combination of factors, primarily related to rising National Insurance contributions (NICs) and minimum wage increases, alongside government policies affecting overseas recruitment. This is leading to financial strain on care providers and potentially impacting the quality and availability of care services.

Caring Works pride themselves on hand picking staff to work in a variety of care settings to develop their career while supporting care teams that may be overwhelmed caring for residents with increasing care needs. Caring Works is positioned for ambitious growth over the next five years with plans to establish further bases throughout the region supporting both clients and candidates with unmatched passion, care and professionalism.

Joining the team is Collette, who steps into the role of Sales Consultant, spearheading efforts in permanent recruitment. Collette brings valuable hands-on experience from her background in the care sector, which allows her to connect authentically with candidates and gain a deeper understanding of the staffing needs within care homes when it comes to permanent placements. The team also welcomes Sammy in the role of Recruitment Consultant. With a strong background as a Healthcare Assistant and Senior Carer, Sammy brings both compassion and practical insight to the role. She is passionate about sourcing the right people and is driven to recruit and provide the very best staff to the services we support.
