Andrew Hayward, Managing Director at Burton headquartered quartered Russell Roof Tiles, comments on the new product, which is the culmination of years of detailed design and planning, meticulous modern manufacturing, and technical expertise.
“Given the huge significance of this product to Russell Roof Tiles, we have chosen a momentous day in British history to launch the product.
“On the anniversary of D-Day, we’re delighted that our groundbreaking roof tile Bute3® has landed.
“The market has grown consistently over the past 30 years for thinner concrete roof tiles, but quality and strength have always been major challenges. Addressing these issues head-on, Bute3® utilises all of the latest pioneering technology and precision engineering to create a multifunctional interlocking triple tile of the highest quality, which meets the demands of modern construction.
“The offensive has started; our strategy is clear: we are ready to liberate the market with our pioneering interlocking triple multipurpose roof tile.”
Pushing the boundaries of concrete roof tile manufacturing Russell Roof Tiles, which is also celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, is producing the tile at its new £18.5 million fully automated production line in Burton on Trent. The firm is also recruiting for new operatives for the Burton site as it boosts manufacturing output in response to demand for its products.
The innovative design and seven colour options of Bute3® provides the first real alternative to small-format concrete, natural clay, and slate roof coverings and are 33 per cent quicker to install than other thinner leading-edge interlocking tiles. The extensive investment in design and development means this all-new triple tile has the strength and characteristics of a regular large format tile.
The product will be on display for the first time at the leading housing show in Manchester, which runs from 24th to 26th June, Housing 2025.
Offering seven colour options, two of which provide a credible alternative to popular clay interlocking and plain tile products on the market. The shades are designed to provide housebuilders and developers with maximum choice, offering a broad range of options to meet local planning requirements as well as being sympathetic to the local aesthetic.
As part of its launch, the company is also giving away £10,000 of product for lucky winners who find its five golden tickets in orders.
