A new educational offer in the city has opened to make high-quality business education more accessible to a wider demographic of students in Leicester and the surrounding area.
Currently located on the 3rd and 4th floors of the blue mural tower, above the Premier Inn, 1B St Georges Way, Leicester, Fairfield School of Business opened its Leicester campus in September 2023. It is a community-focused higher education provider that works with leading universities to deliver high-quality, industry-relevant courses to local residents. Since setting up in Leicester, it has fostered a positive impact on the local community and created job opportunities by recruiting qualified individuals to teach students.
The need to expand was identified during 2024, prompting Fairfield School of Business to contact the Invest in Leicester team to help find a suitable property to support its expansion plans in the city.
Fairfield found the perfect property in Leicester city centre and relocated to Peat House, 1 Waterloo Way, making a significant investment to adapt the entire top floor, occupying 10,750 sq ft. This investment is creating modern classrooms, collaborative learning spaces and advanced technology infrastructure. Fairfield offers flexible study options, including part-time, online and executive programmes, to cater to diverse student needs. It offers a range of courses that include undergraduate and postgraduate education in business, health, criminology and psychology.
Fairfield School of Business focuses on fostering student success, promoting community engagement and social responsibility.
Working closely with local stakeholders, Fairfield identifies skills gaps and develops programmes that meet the needs of the region. In addition, its services act as a hub for entrepreneurship, providing resources and support for startups and small businesses. To date, it has recruited 41 staff and the expansion will create an additional 20 jobs.
“We’re so excited to open FSB’s new Leicester campus. Our new campus is more than just a place of learning — it’s a commitment to strengthening ties with the local community,” said Dr Zahra Fatima, Associate Dean at FSB Leicester.
Mike Denby, Director of Inward Investment and Place Marketing at Leicester City Council, said:
“The Fairfield School of Business expansion in Leicester represents a significant opportunity to enhance the educational offer, drive economic growth and contribute to the development of future business leaders. This expansion underlines Fairfield’s commitment to providing world-class education and fostering strong partnerships within the Leicester community.
“It’s been fascinating to see the growth of Fairfield School of Business over the last couple of years, bringing more skilled jobs. We are fortunate to have such an ambitious organisation within the city centre, with more growth planned, and we look forward to our continued working relationship.”
Fairfield School of Business also has campuses in London, Birmingham and Luton. For further details about Fairfield School of Business, visit https://fsb.ac.uk/
