The housebuilder, which is currently building a range of properties at its Thorpebury in the Limes in Thorpebury, has gifted a set of bird feeders and bird seed to the school.
The initiative coincided with World Wildlife Day on 3rd March, an annual United Nations event that celebrates the vital role of wild animals and plants in ecosystems around the world.
Melanie Evans, Headteacher at The Pochin School, said:
“It is very important to build strong relationships within the community and develop the school grounds to be more welcoming to local wildlife.
“The children at The Pochin School have loved watching the birds in the school garden.”
There are numerous benefits to installing bird feeders in outdoor areas, from providing a safe food source for birds to improving pollination. Initiatives like this help create a harmonious environment where both people and wildlife can thrive.
John Reddington, Managing Director at David Wilson Homes East Midlands, said:
“At David Wilson Homes, we’re committed to enhancing biodiversity in the communities we build, and we’re delighted to help inspire young nature lovers and support The Pochin School with this donation.
“It’s great to see the children engaging with their surroundings and learning about the importance of wildlife conservation.”
Thorpebury in the Limes is home to a mix of three, four and five bedroom properties, located on Barkbythorpe Road.
