Marketing Nottingham and Nottinghamshire to Showcase Region on the International Stage

Marketing Nottingham and Nottinghamshire’s inward investment and visitor economy teams, Invest in Nottingham and Visit Nottinghamshire, are set to bring the region’s exciting investment opportunities and visitor economy offer to the global stage in the next few months, including audiences in the USA, Germany, and France.

Invest in Nottingham

Working in partnership with the East Midlands Combined County Authority (EMCCA), Invest in Nottingham will be attending MIPIM. Taking place from 11th to 14th March 2025 in Cannes, MIPIM is an industry leading real estate event, bringing together key investors, developers, and policymakers. The Invest in Nottingham team will showcase the city and county’s investment opportunities including key sites, development opportunities, and plans aimed at driving economic growth.

Running from 7th to 15th March 2025 in Austin, Texas, South by Southwest (SXSW) is a globally recognised conference and festival celebrating the intersection of technology, film, music, education, and culture. As Nottinghamshire continues to develop as a hub for digital and scientific innovation and the creative industries, attending SXSW will provide an exciting opportunity to connect with global businesses, showcase the region’s strengths, and attract investment into its rapidly growing tech sector. Attendance at this prestigious event is in partnership with Midlands Innovation, a partnership of eight universities who combine their strengths to deliver research and innovation programmes, while pioneering opportunities for the region, made possible through the DSIT-funded Invest in UK R&D: Midlands Campaign.

These events will provide an invaluable platform to promote the region’s real estate, tech, and creative sectors to national and international investors.

Visit Nottinghamshire

Under the motto ‘the world of travel lives here’, ITB Berlin is the world’s largest tourism trade fair. Their 2025 event is set to attract exhibitors and trade visitors from all over the world on 4 – 6 March 2025 in Berlin. Visit Nottinghamshire will be making the most of this unparalleled platform to engage with international travel professionals, tour operators, and media. This year, the team will see support from key sponsors, including trentbarton. Additionally, Visit Nottinghamshire will be representing their neighbouring region at the event, Visit Peak District and Derbyshire, reinforcing the strength and diversity of the East Midlands’ tourism offer.

Alongside ITB Berlin, Visit Nottinghamshire will also participate in the France Workshop 2025 in collaboration with Visit England. This event presents a valuable opportunity to engage with over 42 travel trade operators and inspire inbound tourism from France, one of the UK’s key visitor markets. This opportunity is enabled by Visit Nottinghamshire’s official Local Visitor Economy Partnership (LVEP) accreditation with Visit England, awarded in 2024.

Speaking about the importance of Nottinghamshire’s presence at these events, Megan Powell Vreeswijk, CEO of Marketing Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, said:

“Nottinghamshire has a compelling story to tell, with major regeneration projects, a thriving tech and creative sector, and an internationally renowned visitor economy offering. By attending these events, we aim to connect with key investors and decision-makers in the inward investment and visitor economy sectors, demonstrating why Nottinghamshire is an ideal location for business and leisure.”

Participation in these esteemed events underscores Marketing Nottingham and Nottinghamshire’s role as the region’s place marketing organisation by demonstrating their dedication to promoting the region’s diverse opportunities for inward investment and the visitor economy. By engaging with international investors and industry leaders in tourism, the team aims to position Nottinghamshire as a prime destination for business growth, innovation and tourism.
