Over £9,000 raised by PKF Smith Cooper for Alzheimer’s Society

Midlands-based accountancy and business advisory firm PKF Smith Cooper raised £9,111 for charity during 2024 and further supported local causes through their firm-wide volunteering schemes over the past 12 months.

From a charity golf day to festive bake sales and a bake-off competition across all offices, the firm hosted a variety of creative and engaging internal and external events to help contribute to another successful year of fundraising. The money the firm has raised will be going to leading dementia charity Alzheimer’s Society, contributing to life-changing research and helping people living with dementia, in addition to providing carers with support.

The firm also supported various other charities through their volunteering day scheme, encouraging all team members across the firm to take a day away from the office to support a local charity or cause close to their heart. During 2024, the company volunteered with FareShare, the UK’s largest charity combating hunger and food waste; Ashbourne Animal Welfare, a rehoming centre for stray cats and dogs; and Wythall Animal Sanctuary, a West Midlands-based animal rescue charity giving neglected and homeless animals a second chance at life.

Selma Delic, Operations Partner at PKF Smith Cooper, commented:

“Each year the firm nominates a new charity of the year, and it has been a great privilege to have contributed a significant amount towards Alzheimer’s Society throughout the past 12 months. I would like to personally thank all of our team members for their contributions and volunteering efforts in 2024, as well as those outside of the firm who have helped us reach our grand total. We’re delighted to announce our charity of the year for 2025 will be Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People and we are looking forward to contributing to such an important cause over the next year.”

Alice Grewcock, East Midlands Community Fundraiser for Alzheimer’s Society, said:

"We are so grateful that PKF Smith Cooper chose to support Alzheimer’s Society as their charity of the year over the last two years. From bake sales to golf days, their fundraising efforts have been commendable, and we are so grateful for their support. Thanks to this generous donation, we will make sure people living with the condition and their carers live more fulfilled and less fearful lives, free from stigma and inequality. Alzheimer’s Society relies on the generosity of its supporters, like PKF Smith Cooper, to help continue its vital work, providing help and hope to those affected by dementia."
