The sell-out awards ceremony is set to take place at the Flexible Space Association’s Annual Gala Dinner at the Landmark London on Thursday 28 November. It will see Dock 3 – 5 compete against exemplary competition including Hope Park Workspaces, Workspace Group, and DeskLodge.
This award was introduced for the first time last year and has proved to be a hotly contested category, demonstrating the wealth of ESG initiatives underway in the sector. Sponsored by Clockwise, this year’s award recognises initiatives which have delivered positive environmental or societal and community benefits, or exemplary changes to governance processes.
Leicester-based firm Brackley Property Developments served as the development partner, with construction carried out by county-based Wilten Construction Ltd. Dock 3 – 5 is owned and run by Leicester City Council.
Officially opened on 2 October by City Mayor, Peter Soulsby, Dock 3 – 5 is Leicestershire’s first net carbon zero workspace developments. It offers a range of workspaces tailored to high-tech, knowledge-based industries and innovative businesses. The buildings have been constructed to a “pathway to net carbon zero” and 50% of its roof is covered with photovoltaic (PV) panels, maximizing solar power. No oil or gas is on site and electric charging points and sustainable drainage systems are used.
Positioned alongside the National Space Centre and Leicester University’s research and development campus, Dock 3 – 5 offers high-tech workspaces for knowledge-based industries and innovative businesses, many of which are connected to the Space sector. Inaugural tenants include Kazzoo IT Solutions, Somerbys IT, Employee Zero, World Products, Translatr, Impact Venture, and The VoIP Shop.
Being shortlisted for FlexSA’s ESG Award is a testament to Dock 3 – 5’s success in transforming a previously contaminated site into a vibrant workspace that not only promotes economic growth but also sets a benchmark for environmental stewardship and community regeneration.
Crystal Carter, Workspace Development Manager, comments:

“We’re honoured to be shortlisted for this prestigious national award. Dock 3 – 5 represents the future of managed workspaces in the region and beyond, and it’s amazing to be recognised as a contender. Thanks to our partners Brackley Property Developments and Wilten Construction Ltd, and good luck to our competition! We look forward to seeing the final result.”
