On Friday, November 22, Midland Lead hosted an unforgettable celebration to mark their receipt of The King’s Award for Enterprise in Sustainable Development 2024. The event, attended by over 80 guests including suppliers, partners, and team members, was a fitting tribute to the company’s remarkable achievement.

The prestigious award was officially presented by Liz Fothergill CBE, His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the County of Derbyshire, and Mr Tony Walker, Chair of the King’s Award Panel to Francoise Derksen and Boudewijn Tuinenburg during a formal ceremony. The presentation was followed by a vibrant ‘Team Midland Lead’ celebration featuring live music, delicious food, and a DJ, creating an atmosphere of joy and camaraderie.

A Moment of Pride and Recognition

Speaking at the event, Liz Fothergill CBE expressed her admiration for Midland Lead’s accomplishments, stating:

In his speech, Boudewijn Tuinenburg extended heartfelt gratitude to the entire Midland Lead team, from shop floor workers and delivery drivers to management and administrative staff:

The announcement of Midland Lead’s success came in May 2024, when the company learned it had been selected for The King’s Award for Enterprise in Sustainable Development. Francoise highlighted the company’s dedication to environmental responsibility, stating:

The King’s Awards for Enterprise, introduced 58 years ago, are considered the most prestigious business accolades in the UK. Recipients are granted the honour of using The King’s Awards Emblem for the next five years, a hallmark of excellence.
