Shakespeare Martineau strengthens agricultural law offering

Full-service law firm Shakespeare Martineau has bolstered its agricultural law offering with the appointment of expert solicitor Charlotte Boyes.

With almost four years’ post-qualified experience, Charlotte joins Shakespeare Martineau from Wilkin Chapman Solicitors. Prior to this, she completed her training contract at Crombie Wilkinson Solicitors.

Growing up on a farm in North Yorkshire, Charlotte has been deeply involved in the agricultural and equestrian communities her whole life. Throughout her career, she has specialised in agricultural matters, providing legal services to farmers and businesses within the sector.

Her notable work includes dealing with national banks on legal charges, including agricultural credit act charges; managing land transfers and farm business tenancies for large estates; and advising farmers on land sales, tenancy issues and partnership agreements.

Charlotte, who will be based in Lincolnshire working with clients and teams nationally, said:

“I am thrilled to have joined Shakespeare Martineau. I was particularly attracted to the firm’s specialism in agricultural law; there is a focus on ensuring those within the team have the right resources that enable them to be standout experts in their field.

Shakespeare Martineau’s agriculture team is backed by specialists in inheritance tax and wills, development land, planning, litigation and disputes, renewable energy, telecommunications, succession planning, and trusts. The firm will be further expanding its team throughout the financial year with appointments in both the East and West Midlands, and South of England.
