In celebration of International Youth Day, the charities are providing this event for free and will be running activities for young people aged 11-17 to get involved with anything from arts and crafts to sports and games.
Young people will have the opportunity to chat to Base 51’s counsellors and youth workers about how to access Base 51 services that provide a safe space to go and to support their mental health. Base 51 will be running arts and crafts activities for young people to engage in as a creative outlet.
Epic Partners will be running sports and games including archery, football, and much more, providing young people with activities that improve their mental health and help them build skills in a healthy and fun way.
The event is supported by The Renewal Trust taking place at their community space at Cherry Lodge, King Edward Park, NG3 2AS on the 16th of August 2024 from 10am – 2pm.
A report by the NHS found that one in five young people had a probable mental disorder in 2023, therefore mental health provision and empowering activities for young people are incredibly important. The Big Day Out aims to provide young people with an opportunity to learn about the ways to improve their mental health through a variety of creative and physical outlets.
