Leicestershire business leaders join forces to support industry growth

TEN leading organisations across Leicestershire have partnered to launch a new, exclusive gathering aimed at enhancing business growth across the region.

The Leicestershire Leadership Forum, an invitation-only event, has been designed for mid-market leaders of ambitious businesses with business interests in the region. It aims to provide a space for collaboration, growth, strategic leadership, and networking with like-minded professionals.

The highly reputable names involved in the group's founding have a broad range of industry knowledge and experience. These include: RSM UK, Freeman Clarke, Nelsons, Better Decisions, People Puzzles, The Marketing Centre, The CFO Centre, University of Leicester, Loughborough University and De Montfort University.

The inaugural event took place on Tuesday 18 June at the University of Leicester with renowned English rugby player and former RAF flight lieutenant, Rory Underwood MBE DL as guest speaker, with the event hosted at maximum capacity.

The morning involved networking between attendees, as well as an inspiring talk from Rory Underwood on acceleration for businesses, followed by an interactive Q&A session to allow for wider discussion.

Rory Underwood said:

“It’s an honour to be invited to mark the first Leicestershire Leadership Forum and bring together inspiring individuals and businesses that are creating growth and pathways for a brighter future for the county.

“When I deliver talks, I aim to use my own lived experience of various challenges, to explain how to identify and navigate these times to reach sustainable success. It was great to speak with guests and hear businesses sharing thoughts and ideas, supporting a greater economy for Leicester and showcasing great leadership qualities.”

Deviesh Raikundalia, restructuring advisory director at RSM UK and chair of the Leicestershire Leadership Forum, said:

“With a General Election looming, and many sectors still facing a great deal of uncertainty, this forum’s launch comes at a pivotal time.

“We felt by bringing together the best and most successful minds, we could make a positive impact in Leicester and Leicestershire. All partners involved in the forum’s set up are proud to be helping to drive forward growth for this region. It was great to welcome some new and familiar faces together as we kickstart what promises to be an influential and inspiring group.”
