Leicestershire pub company creates burger to support hospice

A Leicestershire pub company has launched a brand new burger, which will help to raise money for Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People.

The Roseacre Pub Company will be selling the Rainbows Burger across its nine family friendly pubs mainly based in Leicestershire.

The company, which is owned by husband and wife team, Ash and Alicia Gartshore, launched its ‘Design the Ultimate Burger’ competition in January. Each entry paid a donation, which raised £224 for Rainbows. The winning burger, The Rainbows Burger, is now on the menu, and for every burger sold, a £1 donation will be given to the charity.

Ash Gartshore said:

"When the opportunity to partner with Rainbows arose, I knew it was something I wanted to get involved with. My wife is a paediatric nurse so I was certain she would share my passion to support, and we were lucky enough to be able to visit the hospice and see firsthand the incredible work they do. As a company, we have always been passionate and pro-active in supporting charities, particularly those local to us but have never had a particular focus. Now that we have partnered with Rainbows, we are excited for the future and have lots of fundraising ideas that we can't wait to bring to life."

Roseacre has also joined the charity’s Business Club, they have collection tins in all nine pubs and have entered two teams to Rainbows’ corporate Totally Wiped Out event in July. It doesn’t stop there, the team at Roseacre are planning on running two half marathons in 2024, as well as raising awareness at its annual family fun day this Summer.

Rebecca Starmer, Corporate Partnership Fundraiser at Rainbows, said:

“What a fantastic idea to produce a Rainbows Burger, thank you so much to everyone at the Roseacre Pub Company and all of their wonderful customers. The donations from this special burger as well as all of the incredible event fundraising you are doing will go a long way to helping us support around 750 babies, children and young people with serious and terminal illnesses.”
