Inspiring Business by Sharing Success

Little did Living Without Abuse know what was about to happen when Ady Dayman invited them onto the BBC Radio Leicester breakfast show to talk about their Easter Egg Appeal.

The local charity was hoping for 200 eggs for children supported by their dedicated children’s workers…..and have received nearly 1200 eggs from the kind and wonderful people of Leicestershire.

This means that the children of ALL LWA clients are receiving Easter eggs, together with those in partner organisations such as Leicester City Children’s Social Care, going to children in need and looked after children in the city, and local domestic abuse refuges.

This is what our one of the LWA service providers had to say:

‘When a gift appears out of nowhere and is given by a complete stranger you can’t under-estimate the brief joy it brings to someone. Receiving the egg reminds people they are thought about, valued and cared for. These are some of the things we take for granted. I see a young person light up when they receive such a donation, no matter how small.’

This is what the children had to say:

“Oh my gosh thank you. That’s so kind. And one for my brother and sister too, That’s really kind of them, tell them we said thank you.”

‘Wow that’s so cute. I love Easter egg! Mum can’t afford anything so I’ll share mine with her’ (we gave her one for mum too!)"

“Thank you, I’ll enjoy this and eat it really slow to make it last.”

"Thank you so much to all the donors for making such a difference to the lives of these children. They have done a wonderful thing."
