Inspiring Business by Sharing Success

Award winning salon owner and ambassador for Leicester Animal Aid, Barrie, has been raising funds for the Leicestershire animal charity for 5 years now. In last week's dog walk, participants enjoyed the opportunity to stretch their legs (all four of them in many cases!) on a gentle stroll around the scenic parks around Anstey.
Upon returning to the Nook Corner Coffee Shop in the village, they enjoyed some tasty treats - puppy-cinos for the dogs and cappuccinos for their owners. Local businesses had been extremely generous in their donations to a raffle which raised a significant amount of additional cash alongside the sponsorship monies and bucket donations on the day. Prizes included Sunday Lunch at the Forge in Glenfield, day passes for David Lloyd gyms and a cheeseboard for two from the Lancaster Arms in Desford.
"What we've learned is that these sponsored dog walks are not just about the charity and what they need," Barrie said. They're also about bringing the community together in the fresh air and having a tremendous time. It was a great turnout, more than 50 people joined us, and I'm delighted we raised well over £1000 on the day, with donations still coming in on the JustGiving page."
Barrie's already planning for the next charity event and doesn't plan to stop shouting about Leicester Animal Aid any time soon.
"It's a tough landscape for charities right now," he said. "I'm proud to do my part to help Leicester Animal Aid continue with their important work, which touches the lives of many hundreds of cats, dogs and people each year."
