Southwell family-run estate agency celebrates 70 years of generational success

Nottinghamshire family-run estate agency, Gascoines is celebrating its 70th anniversary, having served the property market in Southwell and surrounding areas since 7 February 1954.

Founded by Doug Gascoine, three generations of the family have since carried on the Gascoines’ legacy with one of the current partners Luke Saywell, Doug’s grandson, now at the helm of the business. Gascoines has been at the heart of the Southwell community since its establishment and has expanded to its current location on Church Street and additional office in Ravenshead over the years.

Rachel Gascoine, wife of the late Doug Gascoine, said:

A trusted sales and lettings agent, Gascoines holds the number one position for market share in both Southwell and Ravenshead – a testament to its longstanding success. Alongside its strong market position, Gascoines has consistently supported the local community, sponsoring local organisations including Southwell Rugby Club, as well as being present at key events like Late Night Shopping and the Ploughing Match, and fundraising for valuable regional and national causes.
