LEICESTER LAW FIRM ANNOUNCES NEW PARTNER AND SEVERAL SENIOR PROMOTIONS

LEICESTER LAW FIRM ANNOUNCES NEW PARTNER AND SEVERAL SENIOR PROMOTIONS

Leading Leicester law firm Nelsons has promoted five employees in its family law, corporate and wills and probate departments.

Mediation specialist and family solicitor Gayle Rowley has been promoted to partner from legal director, having worked at the firm between 2001 and 2013, rejoining again in 2020 when Nelsons acquired Glynis Wright & Co.

Her expertise covers a wide range of family law, including advising and mediating in both divorce and separation cases, often involving complex financial settlements. Gayle also advises and mediates in relation to private children law matters, including the resolution of child arrangements.

Gayle said:

“Being made partner is a huge milestone for me. Nelsons is a firm I am proud to work for and I feel grateful to have such a talented team around me in Leicester and  across our other offices too.

“Nelsons has been incredibly supportive of my career advancement and the positive working environment has enabled me to progress. I am focused on continuing to drive forward alternatives to court including our mediation service, an area that has become increasingly important in the legal world, as well as helping to continue to develop the wider family team as they go from strength to strength as one of the largest family teams in the East Midlands.”

Solicitors Emma Lewin, Palbir Vadesha, Rina Mistry and Louise Scott have also been promoted to senior associates.

Emma has specialised in wills and probate matters for around eight years and joined Nelsons in 2021. Emma’s areas of expertise include wills, administration of estates and powers of attorney.

Palbir joined the corporate services team in 2020 and provides specialist legal advice and assistance to a wide range of businesses. Palbir’s areas of expertise include acquisitions, disposals and mergers as well as shareholders and partnership agreements.

Both Rina and Louise joined Nelsons’ family law team in 2020 following the acquisition of Glynis Wright & Co. Rina advises on a wide range of family law work, although her particular expertise is private children law proceedings. Louise’s areas of expertise include advising on divorce, dissolution of civil partnerships, finances and private children disputes.

Stewart Vandermark, chief executive at Nelsons said:

“It is fantastic to announce these well-deserved promotions and I would like to congratulate everyone for their achievements. Gayle, Emma, Palbir, Rina and Louise have each shown real dedication to their roles and have helped to support clients for a number of years. Outside of their specialisms, they also embody Nelsons’ culture and values, which is something we celebrate proudly.”

Nelsons is currently marking its 40th anniversary, and earlier this year announced it would be joining the Lawfront group, helping to drive forward the firm’s bold vision and growth strategy.
