HIGH PEAK MP COMMENDS AWARD-WINNING SITE MANAGER

Barratt Homes recently welcomed Member of Parliament for High Peak, Robert Largan, for a development tour with its award-winning team in Whaley Bridge.

The constituency MP visited the housebuilder’s Midshires Meadow development on Dowry Lane to congratulate Site Manager, Martin Couch, who won a Pride in the Job Quality award from the National House Building Council (NHBC) for his work on the development and the high standards set.

During the tour of the development, Robert was given an insight into the properties under construction as Martin led a walk of the site, accompanied by Managing Director, Rhys Nicholson, alongside Construction Director, John McNulty, and Land Director, Ross Grace.

Having first visited the development when it launched in May 2021, Robert was able to see the progress made by Barratt Homes onsite.

Robert Largan MP said:

“I’m really grateful to Martin for working with me and local residents to minimise disruption from construction. His efforts to engage with local people are hugely appreciated and I’m really pleased that he has been recognised with this award.

“It was good to visit the site to check on progress and I look forward to construction being completed as soon as possible.”

Set to deliver a total of 107 properties upon completion, the established community will also accommodate 32 affordable homes and has fast become a sought-after setting for house hunters.

Accolades such as the Pride in the Job awards rate Site Managers against key criteria such as technical expertise, health and safety, consistency, leadership and attention to detail. The awards celebrate the vital role Site Managers play in ensuring new homes are delivered on time, on safe sites and to the highest quality standards.

This year, Barratt Developments’ Site Managers have won 96 Pride in the Job Quality awards, more than any other housebuilder.

Well underway, Midshires Meadow is surrounded by the Peak District countryside to provide plenty of open space for residents to enjoy the outdoors. It gives Derbyshire homebuyers the chance to escape big city living in exchange for a more laidback life in the country.

As part of the Section 106 (S106) planning agreement with High Peak Borough Council, Barratt Homes Manchester has invested £330,000 into Whaley Bridge, and the finances are being used to support services and improve facilities for both new and existing residents in and around the town.

Rhys Nicholson, Managing Director at Barratt Homes Manchester, said:

“It was a pleasure to welcome Robert back to our Midshires Meadow development, not only to exhibit the progress we’ve made but also to celebrate the success of Martin, one of our award-winning Site Managers.”

Midshires Meadow currently has a selection of three and four bedroom homes available with prices starting from £338,000.
