Dow Schofield Watts launches corporate finance service in Midlands

Financial advisory firm Dow Schofield Watts (DSW) has expanded its presence in the Midlands with the launch of a new corporate finance team.

The three-strong team is led by Harry Walker and includes Fahim Kassam and Daniel Chouciño, who have all joined from FRP Corporate Finance. They will initially be based in Leicester and Nottingham, with plans to expand into the West Midlands in the future.

Their arrival comes just weeks after DSW entered the Midlands market with the addition of Nottingham-based corporate recovery firm Bridgewood to the network.

Each of the new team members has over ten years’ experience in corporate finance and has advised on a broad range of deals across different business sectors. Harry Walker worked with Grant Thornton in Bristol before joining FRP in 2018 to launch its corporate finance team in the East Midlands.

Daniel Chouciño spent the early part of his career working on cross-border mergers and acquisitions for an international corporate finance network, while Fahim Kassam started his career in investment banking with Barclays, Deutsche Bank and Alantra. Both joined FRP in 2019.

Building on its existing track record over the last five years, the new team will advise on deals including sales, management buyouts, acquisitions and equity and debt fundraising, working primarily with owner-managed and private equity-backed mid-market businesses.

Dow Schofield Watts now has over 100 professionals in Aberdeen, the North West, Leeds, Leicester, London, Nottingham and Reading. It regularly ranks amongst the top 20 most active UK corporate finance advisers and also operates Pandea Global M&A, an international corporate finance network covering 33 different countries.

Dow Schofield Watts offers an alternative to traditional accountancy firms by enabling professionals to run their own business as part of the network. The new team are the first to take advantage of DSW’s Breakout Incentive, which was launched in February this year and offers teams of three or more an additional cash injection to start their own business.
