Oliveti Construction Celebrate 30 Years in Business

Established Leicester-based construction group, Oliveti Construction, celebrates its 30th year in business this September.

Oliveti Construction was founded back in 1993 by Gian Oliveti, a joiner at the time, inspired by his father, a hard-working plasterer. Gareth Smith joined soon afterwards as a young bricklayer. The company soon grew, with vital roles being filled - many of which remain filled with the same local employees to this day. These employees now all hold senior roles within the company, with some still being site-based, helping to deliver projects across the county for Oliveti’s key clients.

Today, Oliveti is the sole contractor to run Leicester City Council's National Schedule of Rates (NSR) contract, a framework which previously engaged several contractors at a time. This long-standing relationship with Leicester City Council, as well as a working partnership with Leicestershire County Council, has opened many doors over the years, including numerous projects for local emergency services, airports, schools and universities.

Oliveti Construction is proud to have taken on numerous apprentices and work placements alongside the Leicester City Council Apprenticeship Scheme and Leicester College. More recently, the team have been supporting the Leicester Women in Construction Scheme, by offering work placements to women aiming to work in the construction industry.

Since 2003, the company has run its own bespoke carpentry and joinery workshop and manufacturing plant, operated by a team of highly skilled craftspeople. The team designs and manufactures bespoke joinery products, including staircases, conservatories, furniture, garages, windows, and outdoor kitchens. Additionally, the company also owns Oliveti Cubicles, a business specialising in the creation of made-to-measure cubicles designed for the beauty and leisure industry, along with the education sector. Oliveti also specialises in accessible property and equipment for people with disabilities and has dedicated teams who engage in this work specifically. At the beginning of 2010, Oliveti Construction launched an in-house training facility where they began hosting regular sessions for both their internal staff and its core local supply chain on topics such as fire door awareness and site management safety.

As the company reaches their 30th year in business, it looks forward to the end of September when a celebration event will be held at its head office. The event will bring together the company’s staff and clients to showcase the team's most poignant projects and highlight their key achievements since 1993.

Gianni Oliveti, Managing Director of Oliveti Construction, said,

“When I started Oliveti, integrity and hard work were central to our ethos. As we look to the future and our next chapter, I am proud of our past and never forget where it all began. I know our success is defined by the quality of service we provide and the satisfaction we deliver, and that all our achievements begin and end with our amazing staff. I have known a lot of them since they were very young… just starting out in the world of construction, and I’ve also benefitted from many new additions along the way, as we have grown. I am proud to call them our team and to still be a part of this exciting journey together.”

Oliveti’s Operations Director, Gareth Smith, added,

“Our vision has always been clear; we strive to be an honest, genuine local contractor that provides a professional service to all our clients. The company may have grown over the years, but we pride ourselves on always retaining our core values.”
