So what is a competent person in the eyes of the HSE?
A competent person means someone informed, who ensures you to meet the requirements of health and safety law. The level of competence required will depend on the complexity of the situation and the particular help you need.

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) sets out how you manage health and safety in your organisation. The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) is Britain’s national regulator for workplace health and safety. It prevents work-related death, injury and ill health.
