NEW EXECUTIVE JOINS PKF SMITH COOPER AS CORPORATE FINANCE DIVISION CONTINUES EXPANSION PLANS

Midlands-based accounting and advisory firm PKF Smith Cooper has welcomed a new Corporate Finance Executive, Lauryn Mayson, to the company as its award-winning Corporate Finance team focuses on recruiting new talent to scale up the division.

Lauryn Mayson graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2021 with a BSc in Geography and kickstarted her Corporate Finance career with a top 10 firm. In her new role as Corporate Finance Executive at PKF, Lauryn will be based in the Birmingham office working with clients in a range of sectors across the Midlands to help them buy, sell and grow their businesses.

PKF has ambitious plans to expand its Corporate Finance division in the Midlands and is seeking high calibre individuals and ambitious professionals. This includes a desire to expand both its advisory and its transaction services offerings.

PKF Smith Cooper’s Corporate Finance division was named ‘SME Advisory Team of the Year’ at the Insider Midlands Dealmakers’ Awards in September 2022. Since joining PKF in late 2021, the firm has experienced significant growth across all areas of the firm. Last year, PKF ranked as the 7th most active dealmaker in the UK with PKF Smith Cooper Corporate Finance completing 29 deals in the Midlands, including 5 cross-border deals, worth £346.8m.

The award-winning team behind the dealmaking has also grown and promoted two existing team members, Tom Joy and Josh Gurton, to Senior Manager and Senior Executive respectively.

Darren Hodson, Corporate Finance Partner at PKF Smith Cooper, commented:

“We are pleased to welcome Lauryn to our team and are confident she will prove herself to be a valuable asset to our company and our clients. We are undergoing an exciting period of growth at PKF and continue to invest in our highly experienced team. We are currently recruiting at all levels for ambitious individuals who are looking to make a move into Corporate Finance or take the next steps in their existing careers.”

Lauryn said:

“Thank you to PKF for giving me the opportunity to join the Corporate Finance division. I am looking forward to working with and learning from the rest of the team, in addition to supporting them in serving our clients during what will hopefully be another busy year of dealmaking for the Midlands!”
