Freight Force looks to next stage of business growth by joining Pall-Ex distribution network

To help secure its long-term growth ambitions, trusted storage and logistics group FreightForce has joined network specialist Pall-Ex.

The Norwich based distributor teamed up with Pall-Ex Group’s Fortec business in 2022 to support its diversification strategy and has now taken the next step in its development plans by signing up with Pall-Ex’s distribution network.

Following a £2.5 million investment in a new warehouse, the company is looking to fulfil its substantial growth strategy by joining Pall-Ex. The purpose-built facility, located in Great Yarmouth, will allow the firm to now handle and store an additional 5,000 pallets, increasing its overall capacity to over 9,000 pallets per day.

One of the commercial benefits for FreightForce joining Pall-Ex is the opportunity to take advantage of additional pallet size options. This will allow the haulier give its customers a better service, delivered using market-leading freight scanning and tracking.

Martin Halliday, Commercial Director at FreightForce, commented:

“We have ambitious plans to grow the business and further develop our services, particularly our palletised freight offering. To achieve this, we recognised that FreightForce needs the right partnerships in place with a service comes first ethos. Pall-Ex was the obvious choice as it completely aligns with our values and mission.”

With businesses increasingly looking for ways to streamline supply chains and introduce cost efficiencies, a broader range of pallet services will accommodate the needs of a larger range of customers and provide a more cost-effective service.

Plus, as customers have come to expect real-time visibility on all types of delivery, meeting and exceeding expectations is a major priority for hauliers.

Martin continues,

“Teaming up with a network that is like-minded will help us to maintain and improve service levels, while also offering customers a greater range of distribution options at a time when businesses require more flexibility than ever.”

Pall-Ex is pleased to welcome another outstanding company to its membership. Barry Byers, Pall-Ex Managing Director – UK Group, comments:

“We’re focused on developing our pallet network, bringing onboard well-respected logistics companies, like FreightForce. It is great news for Pall-Ex customers as we improve quality logistics coverage for Norwich and Great Yarmouth postcodes."

FreightForce is a renowned name in East Anglia. The company was established in 1998 by Martin Halliday and fellow Managing director Nick Jolley, along with former business partner Peter Adams.

The trio launched with two employees and two hired 7.5 tonne vehicles, growing its operation by developing a broad portfolio of clients across agriculture, manufacturing, retail and drop shipping.

The firm now owns 58 vehicles and employs a workforce of 96, which it expects to increase by at least 10 once the new warehouse is fully operational.
