Local sustainability specialist on the move, as business continues to boom

Local sustainability specialist, Clean Air Power, has opened a new technology centre. The company, whose client list has included Ford, DHL and Mercedes, will now base its technical development at the DigiJet Technical Centre in Old Dalby Business Park, Leicestershire.

Clean Air Power is helping deliver the transition to decarbonised transport with net zero emissions. The company provides technology and systems that improve performance, and reduce the impact of public and private transport on the environment.

The new, larger premises will allow Clean Air Power to set up more advanced test facilities, enhance and develop its prototype line, and ultimately produce more of its net zero technology solutions. Up to 10 full-time staff will work at the facility, with further efforts to expand the team being made by employing locally in the East Midlands area.

The company has recently secured funding for several new commercial and government-backed projects, including on behalf of the Department for Transport and Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.

The move coincides with a similar relocation for Clean Air Power’s US team, who have switched to a larger premises in Kernersville, North Carolina, from California. The company’s assembly plant is based in the US and builds products for customers including Daimler, Renk and Volvo.

Dan Skelton, Managing Director of Clean Air Power, said:

“We’re all thrilled with the move to our new tech centre, which will give us the space and room to continue to grow. Our new premises is in an ideal, central location in the heart of the UK and East Midlands.

“These are very exciting times for Clean Air Power, as our technology further supports the drive for net zero emission transport. With sustainability at the top of so many agendas, we are confident we can make a real difference with the innovation we will deliver at our new home.”

Clean Air Power’s sustainability solutions include the patented DigiJet injectors, which replace diesel and other potentially damaging fossil fuels with more sustainable fuels such as hydrogen and ammonia. This ensures vehicle engines produce zero or near zero pollutants.
