ICT firm makes YMCA Lincolnshire its charity of the year

From rough sleeping to mountain hikes, the Lincoln-based communications specialist has planned a year of fundraising activities.

The team at Bluecube will be organising and taking part in a range of fundraising activities throughout the year to raise money for YMCA Lincolnshire, its new charity of the year.

Team members will be joining Sleep Easy 2023, a sponsored sleep-out at Lincoln Cathedral and taking on a sponsored walk to the summit of Helvellyn mountain in the Lake District. Further fundraising events throughout the year will include a charity golf day, a five-a-side football tournament, a Bluecube 15th anniversary party, a band t-shirt day and a Christmas jumper day, with more events to be announced.

On top of this, the company, which provides IT and communications solutions for businesses, including managed IT services, VoIP telephone and UC systems, high-speed internet and mobile voice and data services, will be making a donation for every user they connect to a Bluecube service in 2023.

Paul Reames, Managing Director of Bluecube, said:

“We’ve made YMCA Lincolnshire our first ever charity of the year. We’ve been supporting YMCAs across the UK since 2015 and we first donated to YMCA Lincolnshire in 2020 when Covid put significant additional strain on the organisation.

“YMCA Lincolnshire is a tremendously important and valued organisation that makes a big difference in our local community, so we decided to go a step further and support the charity throughout the whole of 2023.

“Throughout the year, we’ll be conducting various fundraising activities to generate much needed money for this important community charity. I’m looking forward to getting involved in a range of events to help raise awareness and much needed funds…. I’m not so looking forward to sleeping outside for the Sleep Easy, but it all helps to raise money, so I’ll do it!”

Liam Haynes, Technical Support at Bluecube, is leading the fundraising project for the company. Liam will be working closely with Scott McGinn, Fundraising & Income Manager at YMCA Lincolnshire, to generate further fundraising ideas and to ensure a significant sum is raised throughout the year.

YMCA Lincolnshire works in partnership with local, regional and national organisations and helps the community through youth work, training, housing, childcare and retail.
