East Midlands grounds maintenance business celebrates 20 years in business.

Derbyshire based Shed Grounds Maintenance reaches a major milestone in January as they celebrate their 20-years anniversary.

Peter Botham, Managing Director started the business from its bare roots in 2003 literally ‘one man and a van’, based from Chesterfield. After working in the industry for many years, Peter had a vision to set up a different type of grounds maintenance company, one where service quality and customer care came first. 

From little acorns, mighty oaks grow. Shed now services an admirable range of clients nationwide from depots up and down the country, and the company has extended its portfolio to include multiple external maintenance services. Shed are delighted and proud that 20 years later they still retain many of their very first clients.

The business now has an annual turnover of around £2 million and directly employs 23 people, whilst working with a select group of regular associated subcontractors. Clients range from Schools, Universities, Hospitals, Town and Parish Councils to Office and Business parks, Distribution Depots and Retail sites.

Over the years the business has been recognised for its professionalism and success by winning multiple awards; whilst Peter himself has been recognised as ‘Businessperson of the Year’ on more than one occasion.

“When I set up Shed 20 years ago, I had a clear vision of what I wanted and it’s so rewarding to see it come to fruition. I’ve been lucky to have built a great team of talented people around me that have helped us continuously develop our business.

As Shed commences into its 20th year of business, it is incredible to see the huge journey they have undertaken.
