Love Business partners urge local firms to pass on the baton of opportunity

Partners and organisers of the Love Business Expo are urging local firms to ‘pass on the baton of opportunity’ in the run-up to this year’s event.

The expo, which takes place at Holywell Park Conference Centre, in Loughborough, on 16 February 2023, has a sporting theme that organisers hope will inspire delegates to adopt a mindset for success.

In the lead-up to the event, organiser Quiet Storm Solutions and its partners from across the region will be encouraging firms to connect to pass on ‘the baton of opportunity’.

The event’s print sponsor, Accent Commercial Resources, has provided the baton. The idea is that every time a business connects with another to share an opportunity, they post the relationship to their social media channels with a photo of them passing on the baton as it travels from business to business.

Love Business will record these in a ‘Roll of Honour’ on its website so by the end of the year, everyone can see which businesses took part and the benefits that sharing opportunities can bring.

Rhydian Pile, Accent Commercial Resources’ Managing Director, said: “Every day, businesses across Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire connect, build new relationships and pass on opportunities.

“This initiative is all about celebrating those connections and showcasing how many opportunities businesses share daily that slip beneath the radar.

“I’m a firm believer in celebrating each other’s successes and showing everyone how much good work goes on in the local business sector and how we can help each other.”

The agenda for this year’s expo is still being finalised, but it will boast some big names from the region’s leading sporting organisations, who will share lessons on how adopting a winning mindset in sports can also be applied in business.

It will also include the usual action-packed mix of inspirational business stories, insight from local and national business and political leaders, and advice from industry experts across a wide range of sectors.

East Midlands Chamber is once again the event’s headline sponsor. It will be joined by a host of other key partners, including KuKu Connect, SMB College Group, the Federation of Small Businesses, Fancy Entertainment, Generation Next, Hardy Signs, the British Business Bank, the East Midlands Cyber Resilience Centre, Accent Commercial Resources, the Loughborough Chamber of Trade & Commerce, Lexus, Inchcape, Dpi and Cross Productions. Help the Homeless Leicester and Me & Dee are the event’s official charity partners.

Steve Megson, Managing Director of Quiet Storm, added: “Love Business is all about creating opportunities, so for this year’s event, we thought, why not celebrate those opportunities and the businesses that make them?

“From passing on a sales lead to collaborating on a project or launching a new joint venture, one business talking to another keeps the wheels of commerce turning.

“Passing on the Love Business baton of opportunity is an excellent way of giving profile to the businesses in our region that are proactively working together and supporting one another to bring everyone further success.

“By the end of the year, we hope the Roll of Honour will show just how well connected the Heart of the Midlands is and how businesses in our region work together for the greater good.”
