Derbyshire Institute of Sport excited to be at Love Business Expo in February 2022

Building our contacts and growing our business network are key reasons why we have a trade stand at the Love Business Expo.

We are specialists in building the mindsets of champions – 20 of the athletes we trained competed at the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games and nine went to the Tokyo Olympic Games held in 2021.

Our founder and managing director Chloe Maudsley believes the event is a perfect fit.

She said: “We use techniques to train our young athletes across many sports to be the best they can. Those same techniques can be used to coach business leaders and their senior workforce in a scheme called Business Champions.

“We have had amazing reviews for our work with companies big and small whose staff have new-found confidence, have developed skills to work successfully together and perform under pressure.”

The event is a chance for the Derbyshire Institute of Sport (DIS) to showcase its Business Champions programme and recruit the next cohort due to start in March.

Working with DIS is all about preparing people to be successful, whether it is on the running track or in the boardroom.

Chloe said: “Our strength and conditioning coaches work on the physical side of things. The psychology of winning is crucial too and cannot be underestimated.

“It is all about mental fitness and developing the right mindset - we help with that.”

The athletes DIS helps compete in a wide range of sports, from equestrian vaulting to football, snowboarding to tennis and orienteering. It has helped 250 young people who compete in different sports over ten years. Chloe leads a team of staff who are skilled at working closely with them to achieve peak fitness.

The Derbyshire Institute of Sport’s co-founder and managing director Chloe Maudsley has inspired greatness among sportsmen and women since 2012. The former world-class karate athlete has created a winning formula at the Derbyshire Institute of Sport (DIS) in offering an elite service in giving athletes of all ages the competitive advantage they need to become champions.

The community interest company (CIC) helps sporting youngsters throughout Derbyshire be the best they can. The key areas are strength and conditioning, psychology, physiotherapy and nutrition.

We receive no funding and are always on the look-out for sponsors to help us in our quest to train young athletes.

People should talk to us because of our role in helping with performance psychology in the world of work.

We are happy to speak to firms who are committed to corporate social responsibility (CSR) projects.
