Cathedral Quarter BID lights up Derby Cathedral with poignant falling poppies as Remembrance Sunday approaches.

In advance of this year’s Remembrance Sunday (November 13th), Derby’s Cathedral Quarter Business Improvement District (BID) has collaborated with the technical team at Quad to install a moving display of falling poppies on the façades of Derby Cathedral.

From early evening, as the nights draw in, visitors will be able to see the flowers cascading down the sides of the Cathedral, providing for a moment of quiet reflection or prayer.

Martin Langsdale, Chair of the Cathedral Quarter BID, is hopeful that shoppers in the Cathedral Quarter will find this chance to pause for a while and reflect rewarding: “Living in such busy and difficult times, it’s important to take to the opportunity to remember our past, and this wonderful installation will offer just such an occasion.”

The cascading poppies display will continue nightly until the 12th of November.
