CHILDREN’S DISABILITY CHARITY SUPPORTED BY AMAZON IN CHESTERFIELD

A Chesterfield-based children’s disability charity has received a £1,000 donation from the Amazon team in the town.

The donation was made to Fairplay, a charity that supports children and young people who have learning disabilities by running play schemes, youth clubs and activity days. The charity also assists young people with independent living, runs parent support groups and organises family trips for parents and siblings.

The donation helped fund the charity’s summer holiday playschemes, which took place in Chesterfield.

Speaking on the donation, Richard Cowlishaw-Ellison, Site Leader at Amazon in Chesterfield, said:

“It’s our pleasure to support Fairplay. We hope the children had lots of fun at the summer holiday playscheme and enjoyed their summer break.”

Adam Wesson, an employee from Amazon in Chesterfield, added:

“The summer holidays are for children to enjoy themselves and make happy memories. I’m pleased my team could support Fairplay to give children a fun summer playscheme”

Elaine Pauk, Children’s Co-ordinator from Fairplay added:

“I would like to say a big thank you to the Amazon team for supporting our summer scheme this year. It is great to be able to give parents and carers a break during the summer holidays and create amazing memories for the children.”

Fairplay received the donation as part of Amazon’s programme to support the communities in and around its operating locations across the UK.

Amazon is providing students with online STEM courses as well as teaming up with charity partner Magic Breakfast and delivering more than five million healthy breakfasts to families.
